A Little Bit About Me
I'm 31, born in Karachi but moved to Ottawa, ON. Canada at age 1. Grew up in Raleigh, NC, USA since age 7. Graduated with a degree in Biology. Completed a web development code immersion program.
I'm very close with my immediate and extended family. Dad is a doctor turned software engineer, mom is a principal, older brother is also an engineer. Although I don't consider myself extremely religious, my faith is very important to me and a part of who I am. I have been lucky enough to complete Umrah twice in the past few years. I like being part of a strong, active Muslim community. I think it's important to do what I can to give back to both my local Muslim and non-Muslim community.
Hobbies include: traveling around the world (very important to me and my favorite thing to do), baking, photography, watching college basketball, spending time with family and friends, and other typical things like watching tv/movies, listening to music, etc. I like being in big cities with open minded, liberal people. I like places that are near the beach and mountains, like Southern California or the Vancouver area in British Columbia.
Few random things about me: I'm an avid Harry Potter fan, love chocolate, many call me a Cookie Monster, I love Italian food (haven't really attempted to cook desi food but I like eating it), I like watching basketball, soccer, and tennis, I'm a night owl, and I really like sunsets, palm trees, and snow. I also love Canada, as I spent some of my childhood there and still visit family there frequently. Some of my favorite quotes are:
"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." - Augustine of Hippo.
"I would rather own little and see the world than own the world and see little of it." - Alexander Sattler
"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore (JK Rowling)

What I Am Looking For
In a potential mate, I would look for someone who shares my values and had a similar upbringing as me. Hopefully they will find family and faith as important as I do and are easy to get along with.
I am looking for someone who can accept me with all my strengths and shortcomings, has to have fear and love of Allah, moderate, and a practicing Muslim.
I prefer someone simple, genuine who can accept me for who I am as an individual and have mutual respect.
Please note: Looking for potential match in USA/CANADA ONLY!
